The London
Eye is going to be the center of the New Year’s fireworks again this year on 31st
of December. That was announced by the Mayor of London earlier this week.
The main accent of the display this year is
going to be the achievements of Britain
during the Olympic and Paralympic games. Hundreds of thousands of people are
expected to gather around the river Themes and watch the extraordinary
performance. The public transport (Underground, Buses, Overground and DLR) is
going to work 24 hours and for free after 11.30 till the morning. If you are
planning to be in London
on 31st and watch the fireworks, I want to give you some
suggestions:
- Be on Westminster or Lambeth Bridge early – at least around 8.30 – 9 PM.
- Take portable chairs or blankets, because if you manage to find a good location you will get tired at some point from standing;
- Take food and drinks, because in the crowd it is almost impossible to buy anything else apart from a McDonald’s menu of some kind.
- Take a raincoat or umbrella because at one point it was raining very heavily the previous year (and that’s England, after all);
- Take a good camera or phone, because the display is worth taking pictures.
I am posting some pictures I made the previous
year and really suggest you to go. Everyone located in England should
see those fireworks at least once.
